Stress is killing your Progress!
If your stress is 12/10, your progress will be a 2/10
When it comes to Health, your priorities should look like this...
1) Mental Health
2) Stress
3) Sleep
4) Nutrition
5) Mobility
6) Form
7) Everything else...
Think of this as an extrapolation of the CrossFit Hierarchy, or Your Fitness Development.
There is plenty to be said of proper mental health. For today, let's keep it at positive thoughts can have a powerful affect. Keep the glass half full, not the other way around.
We have and will cover more of the other topics, but let's stick to Stress today.
First, there is Good stress and Bad Stress.
Good stress can be kept simple. You stress your muscle to make them grow. You stress your body to burn calories. Etc.
You can also introduce this good stress at bad times (which is what we are going to talk about more), but in it's simplest form...if you workout when you are over-stressed, you are not helping your situation.
So, on to bad stress and how it controls your body.
Bad stress comes in numerous forms, take your pick:
- career deadlines
- car repairs
- bills to pay
- no time/chaotic schedule
How do these things affect the body?
Cortisol:
