#WHYWednesday : David Rovano

David has not only found results, but a love for the process! 

I've never really been in shape! I wasn't an athlete at any point in my life. I was tired before the other kids, last one when we ran the mile, etc. and it continued. I love hiking and spending time outside, so i was never living the "couch potato" life, but I for sure didn't have a grip on exercise, what I was putting in to my body, or what it would take to be in shape - I'd always written it off.

I recently (last six months) switched from a moderately active job to a desk job, and it showed! I ate what I wanted and drank whenever I pleased, but running around at my old job kept me at 20,000-25,000 steps a day and I never really gained much weight. The desk job, on a normal day, puts me to bed in the 5,000-7,000 step department. I joined the Challenge to change myself physically, and to learn how to keep making those changes - good habits, good exercise, and better nutritional choices. It's already working.

I signed up for a membership before my first Challenge, but post Challenge it's so much easier to get to the gym. I can't put my finger on what it is - the group of people working as hard as they can right next to me, the coaches keeping everyone focused and moving, the results, the new friends... for the first time in my life I not only enjoy working out, but I look forward to it!
