Gym Etiquette
We keep things pretty simple around here. Show up, work hard, respect the space and the people in it. These are the ground rules that keep CrossFit Aerial running the way it should.
Be on Time
We cover a lot in every class and use every minute. Arrive on time and stay through the end. If you're running late, shoot us a message, but know that jumping in mid-warm-up isn't ideal for you or the group.
Check Your Ego at the Door
Nobody here cares how much you can lift. We care how well you move and how hard you try. Scale the workout appropriately, listen to your coach, and focus on your own progress. That's what gets results.
Introduce Yourself
See someone new? Say hi. Remember what it felt like walking into a gym for the first time. A simple introduction goes a long way toward making someone feel welcome. This is how our community stays strong.
Don't Break Down Your Equipment Until Everyone Finishes
At CrossFit Aerial, nobody touches their equipment until the last person crosses the finish line. Cheer them on, grab some water, catch your breath. Everyone is last at some point, and you'll appreciate the support when it's your turn.
Respect the Equipment
Don't drop empty barbells or bars loaded with only 10-pound bumpers. Control the weight on the way down. These are quality tools that last a long time when we treat them right. If you wouldn't drop it on your foot, don't drop it on the floor.
Stick to Your Station
Set up your equipment and stay in your area. If your wall ball target is further away than you'd like, that's a little extra cardio. Don't use someone else's gear just because it's closer. Everyone's space matters.
Clean Up After Yourself
Put your weights back. Wipe down your equipment. Return boxes, bands, and anything else you used to where it belongs. You're an adult. This is your gym. Leave it better than you found it.
Wipe Down Your Bars
Sweat happens. Blood happens (looking at you, pull-up bar). Grab a disinfectant wipe and clean your equipment after every class. It takes ten seconds and it's the right thing to do.
Chalk Stays in the Bucket
Walk to the chalk bucket, lightly dust your hands, and walk back. Don't carry chalk around the gym, don't create a chalk cloud, and don't treat it like war paint. A little goes a long way.
No Phones on the Floor
Leave your phone in your bag or on the shelf. If you need to track weights, use a notebook or the whiteboard. The hour you're here is for you, your coach, and the people around you. Be present.
Kids at the Gym
Kids who can sit quietly in the designated area are welcome. For safety reasons, children are not allowed on the gym floor during classes. We love your kids, but barbells and toddlers don't mix.
Go the Distance
You can yell. You can rest. You can make faces that would scare a stranger. Just don't quit. Every workout is a chance to prove to yourself that you're capable of more than you thought. That's the whole point.
New Here?
Don't sweat the rules. Show up, be coachable, and you'll fit right in.
